Welcome to Thailand
Welcome!
The Kingdom of Thailand (formerly Siam) is a constitutional monarchy and is
unique among Southeast Asian nations in having developed its culture independently
of any Western colonization. The economy of this fertile land depends heavily
upon agricultural, but there is a rush toward industrialization. From its enormous
capital city, Bangkok, whose noisy traffic jams are as legendary as the golden
spires of its peaceful Buddhist temple complexes, to world-class resorts, like
Phuket, Thailand [land of the free] is inhabited by an energetic, yet gentle,
people with a genuine reverence for heritage, whose traditions are rooted in
centuries of freedom. You are invited to experience every spectrum of the country's
kaleidoscope: the national festivals, historical sites, national heritage, lifestyles
and traditions during Amazing Thailand 1998-1999.
Real Estate in Thailand
The real estate market suffered serious recession in 1997 due to the Asian
economic crisis. As a result, real estate prices have declined dramatically.
Given the U.S. dollar's favorable exchange rate to the Thai baht, residential,
commercial and investment real estate currently represent very attractive values
for foreign buyers.
