Welcome to Finland
Tervetuloa!
Situated between Russia and Sweden, Finland has traditionally had an important
wood processing industry, but nowadays its high-technology achievements are
recognized worldwide. Finns, speak one of the country´s two official languages:
Finnish or Swedish. A land of thousands of lakes and huge pine and spruce forests,
Finland boasts one of the cleanest environments in the world. Finns are used
to space and being close to the nature: there are only 15 persons per square
mile. Lapland offers a somewhat different landscape, with its treeless mountains,
reindeers and other curiosities like the midnight sun in June and the "ruska"--northern
forests glowing with autumn tints. Finns are great lovers of sauna, which is
not such a wonder when one considers the pitch-dark polar nights during the
whole period of the cold winter. There are over 2 million saunas in a country
of slightly over 5 million inhabitants.
Real Estate in Finland
Although almost 40% of Austrians own their own home, compared to other members
of the European economic and monetary union, the mobility of Austrian households
is quite low, with just over 40,000 homes being sold each year. Real estate
professionals are used in about 30% of the sales.
